Genomics Australia was created with a clear vision: An Australian health system which routinely includes health genomics in clinical practice to prevent disease and provide personalised treatments.

Governance and Structure

Genomics Australia was established in July 2025 as a non-statutory body within the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

Partnership

Achieving meaningful improvements in genomics requires collaboration across governments, researchers, healthcare professionals, communities, and industry. Genomics Australia seeks to work collaboratively with these groups to support alignment, reduce duplication, and help create a clear pathway for integrating genomics into everyday health care.
